I always think of Myslovitz as Poland’s Oasis, just with more intellect and less drama. Here’s a good song, a common phrase, a pinch of grammar, and some recommendations:

The song “Dla ciebie” (“for you”) is taken from the album Milość w czasach popkultury (Love in the time of pop culture), released in 1999.

So “dla ciebie” means “for you” – but “you” is not always “ciebie” (if only it were that simple 😅).

We saw in a previous post that “I love you” is “kocham cię“. “Cię” is a shorter version of “ciebie”, but they’re not interchangeable.

After some prepositions (dla, od, do, przez) we need the longer version “ciebie”.

But there’s a lot more to it. “You” can also be “ty”, “tobą” and “tobie” 🤯. And then there’s the plural forms “wy”, “was”, “wami” and “wam” 🤯🤯

Best to take one thing at a time. Before the Polish grammar drives us nuts, let’s enjoy Myslovitz’s track to cement that “for you” is “dla ciebie”:
