Hardly any Polish bands sing in English, it seems. Riverside is one of them and definitely one to check out if you like intelligent, reflective rock. Just maybe avoid them if you’re having a party – save them for the next day :)
Riverside’s music is often filed under prog rock, but that’s not the whole story. I prefer their less proggy stuff myself, like “Lost (Why should I be frightened by a hat?)” from the album Love, fear and the Time machine and “River down below” from Wasteland.
They’ve been around for more than 20 years and are still going strong, as their latest album ID.Entitiy proves.
💡 Worth noting that the singer also has several side-projects. He records both under his own name Mariusz Duda and as Lunatic Soul. His solo stuff is completely different from Riverside, ranging from introspective electronica to dark folk.
