Anna Jurksztowicz’s “Stan pogody” (weather conditions) is not just a delightful 80s hit, it’s also perfect for learning weather-related vocabulary.

And why is she singing about the weather? Not surprisingly, the weather conditions reflect the state of her relationship.

When they have a another small disagreement (“znów drobny spór”), the barometer drops (“barometr zjeżdża w dól”). Their private forecast is getting covered with fog (“Prywatne niebo już mgłą się zasnuwa”).

They have dry highs (“suche wyże”) and wet lows (“mokre niże”).

In the last verse, she sing “Ach gdyby znać zachmurzeń twoich plan / Pod ręką wtedy mieć parasol, kalosze”, meaning if only she knew the forecast of her partner’s cloud coverage, she could make sure she has a brolly and wellies to hand ☂️
